(2013) Snitch.
THRILLER/ ACTION.
The absurdity shown on the beginning is so ridiculous, it tends to overshadow the intentions the rest of the movie has throughout the entire movie. Teenager skyping another fellow teenager into selling some ecstasy for him for his real intentions was only to be a user. By the time he gets the bag of ecstasy by means of courier and by opening the box, he soon finds out that it was all a set up once seeing the tracker below. The next thing you know, DEA agents break into his house before chasing him. By the time DEA agents caught him, they not only charge him with possession but for selling it as well, even though he physically haven't sold anything to anybody yet, nor was he even caught using it. By the time his dad(Dwayne Johnson) visits him in jail along with his ex-wife, the 'selling' charge for some reason still have to stick with him even though it was only his first offense. He gets no lawyer or any kind of consultation. I mean, isn't that the most stupidest thing anyone has ever saw, that a teenager can be charged in an adult court for additional charges without any proof that they were 'going' to do it. What this stupid movie is trying to convey to viewers is that anyone can be charged for just carrying the drugs. You don't even have to use or sell it, but for having it on your hand. It's like if a cop finds a bag of weed in someone's vehicle, and then they go 'oh, well because I found this bag of weed, I'm going to add additional charges on you besides possession but also for intentions to sell it", "Even though I never caught you selling it to anybody, I can easily predict that you were going to take this weed and sell it as well". I mean, I've met many sellers during my time and 100% of the time it's always black and white, since anyone in law enforcement can't predict what people are going to do with it unless they're physically caught doing it on front of witnesses. It's like a driver getting charged for going to crash his vehicle. How can anyone predict something that hasn't even happened yet. As far as I know, he can change his mind and throw the entire package of ecstasy into the garbage can as soon as he got it. During my walks though some of the worst streets in a city, I've thrown ecstasy drugs into the garbage before since kids can sometimes accidently pick it up before putting it into their mouths. Anyways, theirs only one action set piece and it was obviously inspired by "The Road Warrior" or "Mad Max 2" and it wasn't even that thrilling.
2 out of 4 stars.
