Review of Sniper: Special Ops (2016) by Roger P — 06 May 2016
Sniper: Special Ops could have been better titled, "Sniper Op: The Special Class". Whoever was writing/ directing this should've taken two hours out of their busy schedule to watch any other war movie made in the past 15 years.
They should've saved whatever they spent on a 64 year old Steven Seagal (fact) pretending to be a sniper and invested that in consulting any veteran on some glaring inaccuracies including and other baffling military decisions such as employing civilians in combat, having anyone in the movie wear a helmet or learning to fire a gun properly in short spurts rather than just sustained automatic fire.
The storyline is no better, without giving anything away the plot literally is forgotten 45 minutes into the movie and the storyline is completely changed for the last 30 minutes. The final five minutes is so baffling that you really have to watch it for yourself.
Just kidding- watch something else instead. Literally, anything else. I only finished this movie because I didn't think it was fair to write such a scathing review subjecting myself to the entire thing.
