Review of Sniper (1993) by Justin S — 11 Jun 2008
Usually I like films like this. But the fact that they would even consider putting an idiot with no experience with a well seasoned Marine sniper on a mission is just not plausable. Also, Sniper teams are two man units that are well trained together. This type of conflict doesn't exit. Period. As it would impact the mission. Not a feasible scenario. Clearly someone in Hollywood dreamed this up without knowing anything about how things are run in the USMC and the CIA/DIA/ODNI/IC.
Some good moments, but plot not real strong and disappointingly unrealistic. The shooter scenes save it from complete ignominy. Zane is not a good fit for the role. Rambotito.... It doesn't click. (as in telescope adjustments also!!).
