Review of Sneakers (1992) by Sarfaraz A — 19 Oct 2011
Despite the title's deception that this movie is about a pair of shoes, I was pleased to find a decent espionage thriller. The title may not suggest a very interesting movie, but this excellent cast speaks for itself.
Redford, Poitier, and Kingsley are fantastic as always. I particularly enjoyed Stephen Tobolowsky's character and the cameo by James Earl Jones. Comedy is mixed with dramatic intensity, resulting in a hilarious ending that managed to avoid cheesiness.
It may not be Ocean's Eleven, but it was very entertaining.
