Review of Snatched (2017) by Georgia D — 13 May 2017
To my amazement, I actually ENJOYED this film. I think critics often behave like sheep. If a "this is bad" sheep dog is chasing them, they all fall in line and agree. The truth is, this is a warm, funny, entertaining film.
Yes, there are about 3 jokes (repeated) which fall flat. So ignore them. The rest is funny and entertaining, with some exaggerated stereotypes (the he-mean in the jungle) that, with a twist here and there, are pretty amusing.
Everyone leaving the show I saw looked happy. There was laughter during the film. Moments of wild abandon, fear, twists and turns, jaded government officials, crazies in the jungle. Really DOES feel like Latin America--well filmed.
Also well edited, a nice 90 minute movie. Ignore the lazy sheep-like critics. If you want an escape from a slow-to-arrive spring, and are OK with women who are funny and klutzy, smart and silly, go see it.
