Review of Snatched (2017) by Chris F — 19 May 2017
Snatched is a sadly unfunny movie that wastes its two leads. Goldie Hawn is really good in her role and has some funny moments. Amy Schumer is fine, but her character is extremely unlikeable. Schumer and Hawn have good chemistry together, but they aren't in a good movie.
The writing is off. The jokes aren't funny. Some of the supporting characters have moments, like Ike Barinholtz and Christopher Meloni, but they are few and far between. The film focuses on a kidnapping plot that I just didn't care about.
The film is very predictable. You know how the film is going to end up. What the film does get right is a sense of adventure. But you need laughs for the film to be successful, but they are too scattered.
Overall, the funniest jokes were in the trailers. Hawn and Schumer have good chemistry, but that isn't enormously th to save the film.
