Review of Snatch (2000) by Saurabh G — 28 Dec 2011
One of Guy Ritchieâ??s best movies along with Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. First of all it is very well written by Ritchie himself mixing action with humor. There are several laugh out loud moments which are combined with gratuitous violence.
The movie also has an excellent British cast along with Brad Pitt and Benicio Del Toro who both play very funny roles. Pitt plays a gypsy who is also a very good boxer and has a very funny accent while Del Toro plays a thief who has a gambling problem.
There are several other characters who contribute to the humor in the movie and each character intersects with another in one way or another. The movie is very entertaining and the ending is clever. There was a great parallel action sequence in which the dogs chased a hare while in the meantime a few gangsters were chasing a thief.
Overall the movie was very entertaining, funny, and had great action scenes with very interesting and varied characters. I also think this is one of Brad Pittâ??s funniest performances.
