Review of Snatch (2000) by Drew O — 03 Jul 2012
Snatch is honestly one of my favorite movies from the 2000's. It very well might be my absolute favorite film of the decade. This film is nothing but pure entertainment from beginning to end. The entire thing is pure genius and endless fun. The dialog is absolutely hilarious and extremely quotable and the acting of the entire cast is nothing short of perfect.
Brad Pitt is in fine form in one his best roles as the fast talking gypsy, Mickey. Stephen Graham and Jason Statham are hilarious together and possibly the best actors in the film. I usually hate Jason Statham, as his movies are nothing but dumb actioners and Statham plays the same character, but he is incredible in this movie.
I know I'll get some hate for this next comment, but Snatch is really the British Pulp Fiction. The film has loads of fun and entertaining characters that have hilarious dialog between them and the situations that they get into are just plain nuts. The mix of stories echoes that of Tarantino's masterful film and is just as fresh and exciting. I'm not saying that Snatch is better than Pulp Fiction, but it's just as fun and crazy and possibly almost as good.
Snatch is one of my favorite films. Ever. I don't care if it's a copy of Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. It doesn't matter. I can't get enough of the quotes and the characters and I am just as entertained every time I watch it, maybe even more entertained. I recommend this film to every film lover I talk to. It's difficult to not enjoy every second of Guy Ritchie's incredible ganster flick.
