Review of Snakes on a Plane (2006) by Butterz B — 11 Jan 2011

Snakes on a Plane was an internet sensation years before a script was even written. The reason is obvious, the title. As if you wouldn't want to see a movie named 'Snakes On A Plane'? Because of the populaity a script for SOAP was finally written, and the movie put into production. Unfortunately when the movie was released it didn't get the best reviews, they werent horrible, but they werent good either.

SOAP is probably the only movie in existance that has a 100% truthful title, and not only that, it also tells you what the whole movie is about. I admire this movie for that, and I think others should as well, even if they dislike the movie in general. SOAP is very B-Grade, and the shotty CGI snakes transition to the toy snakes for hand to hand combat dont make the movie look any smoother, but I have seen hundreds of B-Grade movies, and most of the time I find them quite entertaining, mainly just to laugh at. SOAP tries to be a horror, it fails, the movie is so bad and dumb you just end up laughing at it. I think the person that wrote the script thought some guy having a snake hang of the end of his dick would be scary. They were wrong. Im fairly certain in america this movie got an R rating, but it only got an M rating here, but it should have at least gotten MA, at least. I havent seen this movie in about 3 years but I remember there to be quite a bit of blood and gore.

There is no plot, there is just a quick explanation of why the snakes were on that plane. And it doesnt really matter because you watch the movie to see some snakes kill some peopleon a plane. Thats it. SOAP wasnt as popular after its release as it was before it, but it spawned one of most memorable quotes in movie history, said by none other than Samuel .L Jackson. Im sure you all know what the quote is, but did you know the writer actually put that one liner in the movie because of a fan made comic prior to it's release?

Snakes On A Plane is a very very guilty pleasure of mine, and I find it quite enjoyable to watch, but all in all the movie is pretty bad, which is why I only gave it 60%.

***Also, if you see a movie named 'snakes on a train' DO NOT WATCH IT! It is not a sequel, but just a DTV Mockbuster.
