Review of Snakes on a Plane (2006) by Blancoa. — 17 Aug 2006
No, it's not the next Citizen Kane, but if you're looking for a really fun, end-of-the-summer thriller, this fits the bill perfectly. Next to Pulp Fiction, this is likely Sam Jackson's best role.
He's got style to spare, and his lines are funny as hell. I was at the first showing (Thursday 10PM) with at least 100 SOaP fanatics, which made the experience all the more fun, but there are plenty of "scream" scenes," and probably just as many bust-out-laughing moments.
The critics might find some obscure ways to dislike the film, but just about everybody I saw leave the theater tonight had huge smiles on their faces. Don't over-analyze the thing. Just go and laugh and scream with it.
I wouldn't call it a horror film so much as a thriller/disaster flick. Definitely recommended.
