Review of Snake in the Eagle's Shadow (1978) by Movie K — 26 Aug 2009
Seen this movie many years ago and it is still one of the best effort from Jackie Chan. Innovative and stylish kung fu moves. Bought the DVD to enjoy this classic hit again. Lots of fights and moves. Jackie Chan is a low class in a kung fu school.
The so call teachers always use him as a beat up target. One day he saw Yuen Siu Tien fighting with a rival school gang and he went to help. He bring him back to his place and offer him food and tea. Yuen is actually the Snake Fist expert and he offer to teach Jackie.
Jang Lee Hwang is a deadly expert of Eagle Claw, who want to kill all of the Snake Fist gang. Jackie was fool by Jang that he is a friend of Yuen. He cross a few moves with him but wasn't his match at all.
Then he saw a cat fight a cobra and win. He began to fuse the Snake fist and cat moves together and this new kung fu defeated Jang in the final battle.
