DePalma has always been known to "borrow" film-photography from some of the best directors (Welles, Hitchcock, etc.) but he used the multi-angle brilliantly in this one. As for the cast, I dunno, there's just something about Nicolas Cage's acting that draws me like a magnet; that little spark or something that he brings in each one of his characters.
