Review of Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017) by Crispian B — 13 Apr 2017
Took my son to see this as we both liked the first two smurf films and thought this would be more of the same. Wish I had read the reviews before going. Apart from one or two bits I smiled at, the film has nothing to recommend it.
Maybe there were some clever bits of animation in there, I don't know and I don't care, they certainly didn't make up for the lack of good jokes and slapstick real life comedy present in the other films.
I guess the under 5s might like the cute bunnies and the random nature of much of the plot, but for older children and adults, bring back Gargamel sifting through cat vomit for Smurfette's hair and getting bitten by a come-to-life gargoyle and screaming to high Heaven.
