Review of Smokin' Aces (2006) by Ian R — 03 Nov 2009
Not bad, but not mind blowing. It's strength is definitely the rat-race of different assassins and bounty hunters, along with the FBI to get Israel. Jeremy Piven's performance wasn't bad, but with so many different characters, not a lot of other actors got a large amount of time to shine, but they all did decent, in my opinion.
The story itself, is fairly straight forward with a pretty obvious (and mostly inconsequential) twist. There was some decent action and some decent anticipation as well. Overall, it was what it was, and is probably worth a watch every once in a while.
