The plot points and abrupt twists make this movie hard to turn off your brain and enjoy like it intends, but "Smoking Aces" benefits from a rock solid performance from Jeremy Piven and Ryan Reynolds, with some brutally memorable action sequences that manage to keep this movie afloat, if you can handle it being very rough around the edges.
