Review of Smokin' Aces (2006) by Sean R — 29 Sep 2012
What a twisted up movie! When you first begin to watch this, you might think that everything is happening way too fast and everyone is talking at once. Try to get beyond the beginning, and then you get all of these characters fro all over the place; ex-cops, hit-men, thugs, mercenaries, face changers, and even the FBI.
If yours a movie buff like me, you might find it ironic that Ray Liotta plays an FBI agent when he is so known to play a Mobster in Good Fellas (date).
Jeremy Piven teams up from his youth of stardom gives an interesting performance.
Chris Pines (Star Trek 2008) plays the most interesting role of a southern thug, which is way different than any of the other roles we have ever seen him play.
And Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal (date)) seems to find these great roles for himself.
By far of all the movie twists, this has to be the best up to date.
Although you might think that whom ever wrote the lines for the script was on some kind of trip, the plot itself keeps you guessing to the very end.
