Review of Smokey and the Bandit (1977) by Craig H — 09 Jun 2012
Watched as part of a personal 'Trucks & Trucking' double-bill, with 'Over the Top' being the other choice. This movie was a recommendation and overall was a lot of fun despite being a shortish movie by today's standards, it's age and simple story.
Bandit is a cool, laid back type character breaking the law, playing with the law and generally driving fast in his black T-top Trans Am. Snowman is his partner in crime and truck driver who's making the illegal run of liquor.
The movie features different law enforcers from different states all out to apprehend Bandit and overly unrealistic when it comes to being a serious cop. This is an amusing movie with comical moments and scenes, the law are very similar to 'Police Academy' and aren't to be taken seriously in this story.
Lots of trucks, CB communication and open roads across the united states. Country music also very catchy throughout the movie too.
