Review of Smiles of a Summer Night (1955) by Evan M — 02 Aug 2008
Smiles of a Summer Night sort of plays like a lighter B-side to Renior's The Rules of the Game. It may not be Bergman's best work, but it is a lot of fun. It doesn't probe the depths of human experience like Renior's film, but has the same breezily transient tone.
Appropriately, it's a great way to pass a warm summer night.
