Review of Smiles of a Summer Night (1955) by Audrey Y — 07 Aug 2008
I didn't expect that much humor from a film that old! I was resisting myself from bursting into laughters in the quiet hall (why so serious?) the score made the film much more amusing (esp those still shots with a huge close up).
It was a big reminder of shakespeare's a midummer night's dream, perhaps a modern "lamentable comedy" I might say...
