Review of Smiles of a Summer Night (1955) by Kevin M. W — 19 Jun 2012
Sweden doesn't see a lot of summer, warm weather, and when it finally arrives ... well, blood races, and so the basis of Bergman's surprising (well, its Bergman!?!) romantic comedy involving 4 couples playful verbal sparring with an eye towards eventual mating.
Light, full bodied, exquisitely rendered, and a little saucy.
