Review of Smile (2022) by Jrichard1994 — 16 Oct 2022
Suspenseful, Like John Carpenters The Thing, Doesn’t know what real is actaully. Can be preodictable, Smile is a solid horror flick that focuses on a person’s internal struggle and pasts the nightmare like a disease.
It’s a manipulating film that tricks the audience into seeing stuff that could be real or not. The enemy is the mental version of John Carpenter’s The Thing, in which it causes torment from within.
Director Parker Finn and actress Sosie Bacon execute the movie with precision and suspense that guides the audience into a direction, then jerks them in the opposite direction. The Movie does have predictable horror themes, but at the end, (a lot like The Thing) the nightmare is never fully extinct.
