Daredevil (below Daredevil: The Director's Cut).

When you talk about Iron Man being an instant success at the box office I am often left puzzled why; Daredevil is not an enormous blockbuster achiever but at least it's entertaining.

Daredevil's plot is a little thin and could and should have been expanded on. The whole concept is based on a revenge attempt at the Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan) who murdered Matt Murdock's (Ben Afleck) Dad in cold blood. It becomes a little weary and thin because of the fact there are no big sub-plots. Anyway, Murdock becomes the night guard Daredevil who is first at hand to any trouble in the city. He falls for tough girl Elektra (Jennifer Garner) and his high profile crime stopping alerts the Kingpin so Murdock is hitting two birds with one stone.

Overall, Daredevil is a good movie - nothing more - nothing less. Like previously said the movie runs a little low on ideas and certain aspects such as Ben Urich's (Joe Pantoliano) character were not personified well enough at all. However, the villain to hero battles between Daredevil, Bullseye (Collin Farrell) and Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan) are very impressive and you will want to view them continuously. Acting is also very good from all areas so congratulations to Mark Steven Johnson despite some bad reception!

UPDATE- Daredevil: Director's Cut **** (Four Stars).

It beggars belief why director Mark Steven Johnson was forced into making nearly half an hour of cuts to produce the theatrical Daredevil. Don't get me wrong, Daredevil was a good movie but it didn't have enough depth and with the added subplot of the Daunte Jackson (Coolio) court case which also explains many aspects of the theatrical version more clearly. Also, battle scenes are more intense particularly the fierce showdown between Daredevil and Kingpin which has numerous changes which make the scene more intense and last for a longer duration.
