If there was one unpredictable event in this wannabe indie movie, I missed it.

And really, if you want to see a film about an alienated college professor, rent "The Visitor." If you want to see a movie about Juno, rent "Juno." If you liked "Sideways," you'll love the Thomas Haden Church character because he's the same character, and if your fantasy--after all this time--was to see Sarah Jessica Parker in scrubs, this film will provide 90 minutes of exhilaration.

I didn't care about a single character and didn't believe a single epiphany, though most of those are saved for the closing credits, proof, perhaps, that not even the director believed it.
