Review of Small Town Murder Songs (2010) by Dave S — 16 Aug 2011

I don't know what they were going for here. As a crime story, it's subpar. As a character study, it's too distant. It seems to want to say something about small town life an religion, but neither of these are particularly developed.

And the soundtrack is clearly supposed to be something important too, but it's mainly just overstated and distracting - plus the songs were so much louder than the dialogue I had to constantly be ready to adjust the volume accordingly.
