Review of Small Time Crooks (2000) by Alex C — 26 Jan 2009
One of Woody Allen's most underrated gems. It's a twist on the rags-to -riches story, and really goes into more of how one deals with wealth once they have it. Woody Allen gives one of his funniest and honorable performances as a crook who's botched bank robbery ends up turning in to a wealthy success story when his wife's cookie business takes off.
The film is just fun with a lot of heart. I really felt connected to many of the characters frustrations, and when it was all over I was immensely satisfied and really craving a cookie.
