Review of Small Soldiers (1998) by Martin B — 20 Oct 2011
Pretty weird play doll action. Strong cast, much stronger cast than movie really.
Bad dolls versus good dolls. And some slutty female dolls and some real actors fighting for their lives. Strange movie. Too frigthening for the kids, too little plot for the grown-ups.
The dolls are cut in half, some are fried, some explodes, some is run over by a lawnmower, many of them die. The "Good" Dolls are played by the members of Spinal Tap. Phil Hartman plays his role like inside a saturday night live scetch.Denis Leary pretty much plays Denis Leary. Kirsten Dunst is very young but likes older guys and Led Zeppelin.
It's kind of a mess.
