Review of Slumdog Millionaire (2008) by Khalid A — 12 Aug 2012
Now the good was the photo and the soundtrack for the most part as well as some of the younger kids acting.
There was however some not so great moments - especially in the beginning of the movie. I can't wrap my head around the fact that the story is build around a famous TV-show which conveys reality when the film feels surreal. Just the fact that sounds and graphics are borrowed straight over feel much like product placement...
The final question is so ridiculous that I can't forgive it and the ending dance just enhances my feeling that for a movie that ends so well and conveys such happy feeling it has some terror moments that feels out of place.
I'm disappointed but I don't know if I should direct that to the movie or the Academy etc for hyping it so much.
I feel like I missed some kind of point the movie was trying to make.
