Review of Slumdog Millionaire (2008) by Will D — 04 Oct 2013
Very good but not a masterpiece, and not Boyle's finest work to date. The main gripe for me was the use of Who Wants to be a Millionaire as a backbone for the whole thing: that cheapened the film for me.
Storywise, the first half was far superior to the second. It's welcome as a fresh perspective; one that isn't often seen by either western or eastern audiences.
