Review of Slumdog Millionaire (2008) by Guido S — 02 Dec 2013
Jamal is on an Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, he is one question away from the grand prize and is being questioned by police who suspect a guy from the slums is cheating. Later it is revealed that the events in his life were so burnt into his memory that he knows most of the answers that way.
He is on the show in hopes of finding his long lost love will see him on there and they can reconnect. A very good film from Boyle, although told in a non-linear fashion. It is very easy to follow as the story isn't too complicated.
At the end, the characters are interesting and the acting is well done to make everything believable. One of Boyle's best films.
