Slum dog Millionaire was directed by Danny Boyle in 2008. It is a British drama based on the first novel by Indian writer Vikas Swarup, "The Fabulous Adventures of a hapless Indian who became a billionaire". The film stars three main characters : Dev Patel, who embodies Jamal Malik, in the title role of the leading role. Freida Pinto plays the role of Jamal's great love throughout the film. She plays Latika. And finally, Madhur Mittal plays the role of Jamal's elder brother.

"Maman", played by Ankur Vikal, plays the role of the enemy.

The film tells a story of a boy, Jamal, a former street child, from Juhu Slum, who will participate at « Who wants to be a millionaire ? » and he will win 20 million rupees, a record hitherto. He was arrested and suspected of cheating: Then begins a long story of flashbacks of his life and his experiences from childhood to the entry to the game. This boy will, throughout his childhood trying to find Latika despite pitfalls. In the end, Salim delivers Latika, at the expense of his own life. He dies. After pocketing the 20 million rupees, Jamal and Latika meet at the railway station and kiss.

The action takes place in Juhu slums, then on the scene of "Who want to be a millionaire".

In my opinion, the plot seems to be a bit overcomplicated but very absorbing. I was torn between the action of the film and the envy to know more. There aren't a lot of special effects and they weren't stunning, but inventive. I think it wasn't the first goal of the film.

What I like the most was that this film was very moving. The sadness of the movie was very involved. The acting performance was powerful and convincing. The writing is very though-provoking.

Generally, I enjoyed this film. I find this film though-provoking and moving. The only criticism I would make is that between the stage with the inspector and the flashbacks it is difficult to navigate.

I recommend this film to anyone who loves story about love and drama : It's a very good british drama.
