Review of Slumdog Millionaire (2008) by Mickaëla P — 26 Apr 2014

Based on Danny Boyle's story, the movie Slumdog Millionnaire tell about a young indian who is called Jamel Malik. The film tells a story of a young indian who wins at the game "who wants to be a millionnaire ?" but the inspector think who Jamel cheated. During the movie, we go to see that question has a concret report with the life of Jamel when he was a child. It's with a lot of flashback, that we go to see the events of Jamel and his brother in the middle of the slum areas of India. The plot is overcomplicated because on one hand, the scenario is not made as most of the films because there are a lot of flashback. On the other hand, it is necessary to understand that the inspector thinks that he cheated and that consequently, every flashback shows that it did not cheat. The special effects are not breathtaking because there is a little, but it gives to the film a realistic vision. However the attacks of planes on districts Indian seem very natural and staggering. Photography is very impressive because we have the printing to see the reality in front of us rather that a film. The acting is convincing and natural : the inspector play his role perfectly, it looks on of him and these arguments.There is a ressemblance between small Jamel and when he grows. The script is not realistic because in the reality one can't have the answer for every question with an experience of our life. But the story is gripping. Generally, I don't like the not realistic films but this movie is fascinating by it's originality.

Generally, I find this film absolutely fascinating. When we look a movie, we have the impression of the already seen because there is nothing again and of exeptional in the scenario while this film is really well made. It is necessary to go to see this movie !
