Review of Slow West (2015) by Nick E — 17 Aug 2017
It's very difficult to do something different with Westerns, something that hasn't been seen before (or, at least, I haven't seen done quite this way before), but this comes pretty darn close.
The whole tone is quite contrary to what one would expect and it uses that to great success in service of a simple story full of romance, action, dark humour and a bevy of memorable characters. This beautifully shot film is certainly a very impressive calling card for first time director John M.
Maclean and I look forward to seeing more of his unique and quirky style.
