Review of Sliver (1993) by Vince F — 10 Jun 2008
Over stylized pulp that doesn't have a clue on what it really wants to be or say, so instead fills the movie up with lot's of sex, raunchy language, expensive set design and a slick sounding soundtrack.
To remember anything substance wise is out of the question. It had a neat concept but it's packaged as a thriller with no clear idea on what there is to be thrilled about.
There's some killer running around, killing women for reasons unknown to me, even after the credits rolled, so what the hell I'm I watching? Lot's of sex with excess baggage it seemed.
Sharon Stone at least plays a normal character which was neat to see (no Catherine Tremell though, which is sad).
And the directing moves things along nicely.
Lot's of eye candy for the low attention spanned generation, but had potential to be something more.
I really liked the opening credits, the best scene of the entire production actually actually, which is not a good sign.
I want Zeke's video "toy".
