Review of Slither (2006) by Geoff Holenuts G — 06 Apr 2009
It's impossible to rate camp in terms of stars. Basically this is a 1-star horror movie or a 4-star comedy. I rated it as latter. The movie runs through virtually every time-worn stereotype in the horror genre and never fails to satisfy the viewers pride of guessing the next "unexpected" turn of events 10 minutes before they happen.
But if you've seen enough horror movies, you can see clear as day that this was never meant to scare people. This was meant to amuse. Clues of this intention were slipped into the dialogue and the seldom portrayed hillbilly-americana that created a hilarious backdrop for the supernatural events.
In this light it's almost sad that some elements of the story were actually quite interesting...
