Review of Slippin': Ten Years with the Bloods (2005) by Jj G — 22 Jan 2009
Slippin' is a raw visual experience, one I've never experienced watching a documentary. Now I have an idea what life in south central and being a blood gangmember could be like. This isn't a piece about promoting violence, it's a movie about struggling and maintaining friendships-when all the odds are against you.
Slippin' documents ten years with the same people - it never feels as if you're being fed media propaganda - following them through their trials and tribulations. I strongly recommend this film.
Check it out.
