This was a brilliant movie. Billy Bob Thornton's portrayal of Karl Childers is a testament to his brilliance. I have seen this movie several times, and it stays with me every time for hours after. Unfortunately, Thornton was not recognized by the Academy which is not surprising.
Nonetheless, this movie proves that Thornton is beyond talented. His portrayal of mentally challenged Karl Childers, is pure genius.This movie draws you in and does not let you go.
