With a captivating performance by Billy Bob Thornton, "Sling Blade'' is a well written nearly perfect film. Carl is a mentality ill man...obviously. He had a rough, rough childhood. He killed at a young age, and was sent to the mental hospital. After decades he is released, and must adjust to the outside world.
In this timeless classic, lies an emotional story, full of pain, tragedy, exceptince, love, and ultimately, redemption in a way. Billy Bob Thornton gives the performance of a lifetime. Well done Mr. Thornton, 5 stars!
