Review of Sleuth (2007) by Giacomo A — 07 May 2008
This movie starts out promisingly as the aging writer played by Caine taunts Jude Law' character into accepting his offer to play in a game. But things fall apart soon after. Caine is a fine actor but I find him a tad melodramatic here.
Law is definitely way overacting here. And it just goes downhill all the way down. I never watched the original but from what I know they have changed this one so the best part of the original movie is completely omitted, leaving this a strange homo-erotic suggestive piece with, I shall quote another writer, no soul.
All style and no soul. Tsk.
