Review of Sleuth (2007) by Rebecca E — 08 Aug 2009
I've never seen the original version of this, and wasnt even aware that it was a play until I came and read some of the other reviews. That being said, I really, really enjoyed this. There is just something about it. I loved the tense atmosphere and never knowing what they were going to do next to throw the other off balance. It was fascinating. I loved the last line, when Andrew said, "Good-bye darling." Just throwing that out there at the last minute threw me a bit off balance again. I guess Andrew wasnt lying when he said he admired Milo's mind. Milo out-played him and he admire him for that. Awesome.
In addition, it didnt hurt that Jude Law looked gorgeous in this. I'm not really a fan, but for the first time I found him extremely attractive. I think it was the long hair.
So, if the original is supposed to be so much better than this, I guess I really have to see it.
