Review of Sleepy Hollow (1999) by Lee M — 24 Nov 2011
Some directors seem primed to helm certain films. Such is the case with Tim Burton and "Sleepy Hollow". The film features his elaborate set designs and the film is a treat to look at. Johnny Depp plays Ichabod Crane (the famous character from Washington Irving's short story) as a detective coming from New York to Sleepy Hollow to investigate vicious murders.
The mystery unfolds as does Burton's homage to old horror classics of Hollywood. Visually arresting and containing a macabre sense of humor, this is one of Burton's better movies.
