Dark. Very bleak and extremely well acted. A VERY different Charlize as opposed to the one in 'Hancock'. Nick Stahl stole the movie, about a brother & sister (C.Theron & he) who have lived in the shadow of terrible abuse at the hands of their Father (Hopper).
Depressing, moving and NO WAY uplifting. But a very moving film nonetheless.
