Review of Sleepless in Seattle (1993) by John S — 11 Jan 2013
Impeccable casting and clever dialogue elevate this film above the average romantic comedy. What's interesting is how the film creates a romance between two characters who don't really meet until the very end, but it's the ride there that's the most fun.
Somewhat of an homage to classic romantic cinema and a gentle jab at gender differences add to the fun. But Nora Ephron's post-modern sensibilities make this a much more clever (and better) film than those films like An Affair to Remember that it is so influenced by.
