Review of Sleepless in Seattle (1993) by Cassandra M — 23 Dec 2009
Although this film relies so much on the plot of 'An affair to remember' the central protagonists act splendidly. Every scene fits in seamlessly with the next; this film has so many quirks, namely 'David Hyde Pierce'(Niles from Fraiser) is supremely witty in his brief part as Ryan's (Annie's) brother.
I also loved the theme of the United States map, the classic songs, Rosie O' Donnell's extra-marital affairs, Walter's allergies, Clarise's blandness (babysitter), 'tirimasu' and lastly but most importantly 'Jonah.
' It wouldn't have been the same without him. The fact that the fashions of the 90's are reflected in the film makes it interesting. People didn't seem as interested in fashion trends in the 90's; I loved the coats.
If you loved this movie you must watch 'You've got mail.' Sure this movie is a classic chic flick but it''s also an appropriate family film. I've watched this film many times with my family and although the boys groan when I say I'm popping it into the DVD film, there are no real objections.
If you haven't watched it, do.
