Review of Sleepless in Seattle (1993) by Jon C — 03 Jan 2011
It's a fun, likeable entry by Nora Ephron.
Hanks and Ryan are terrific playing two people looking for deeper meaning when it comes to love.
The little boy as the son to my surprise really carries this picture being the heart of the story.
Hanks plays a reluctant father willing to move on to be happy once more and he really shows it.
Maybe one scene of dialogue could have been excluded cause it sort of felt like 2 hrs as opposed to an hr and a half.
The funny dialogue, the charm and the sweeping romantic-feel do make up for the majority of the movie.
Also gotta mention the ever-sweet soundtrack b/c it has a warm 50's vibe.
The part though with the son going by himself flying to NYC: yeah this is gotta be in the land of make-believe cause how is that possible for an 8 year-old?
Besides that 'Sleepless in Seattle' is a sure 90's hit in romantic-comedies.
