Review of Sleepless in Seattle (1993) by Peter M — 15 Dec 2009

Being that today is Valentines..........and everyone is either with that special someone or perhaps yearning to be...............i decided that it would be appropriate and kinda funny to review Sleepless in Seattle.

I like this movie, it makes me laugh and {almost} cry at the touching and funny performances by its stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, who have great chemistry, which is funny because they only share a few minutes of Screen time together through the entire film.

And yet Director Nora Ephron and writer Jeff Arch tease the audience with that {will they wont they} approach and it works because through the entire film you are waiting and hoping for that inevitable moment where they finally meet.

Okay.... its predictable, but who cares, its fun to watch and anyone with even a hint of a heart will want these 2 Characters be together, its a Romantic comedy so that's what we want as an Audience.

Tom Hanks plays Sam Baldwin who lives in Seattle with his son Jonah. He is a widower who lost his wife to Cancer and spends most of his time just trying to get by.

That is until his son calls a National Radio advice Show on Christmas eve and persuades his father to talk about his feelings about his wife and how much he misses her.

It turns out that thousands of women across America who are touched by Sam's Story start sending him letters wanting to get in contact with this mystery father who seems to have touched so many hearts.

One of those women is Annie Reed, 'Meg Ryan', whom lives in Baltimore and cant seem to get this guy out of her mind, from then on she goes out of her way to seek out Sam Baldwin and perhaps even find her true love.

She may even sound a little like a Stalker, but in movie terms, it works.

For all you lovers out there who have not yet seen this movie, it is certainly a good one to cuddle up to on Valentines Day, you will not be disappointed!!!!!!
