Review of Sleepless in Seattle (1993) by Dakotah S — 21 Jan 2011
SOME MAJOR SPOILERS!
Quite an impressive Rom-Com that quite doesn't follow the same formula as most movies.
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are terrific, they give both great performances and have such a charm, the thing is that they only have one scene together which is quite a bummer, the kid who plays Tom Hanks son is quite incredible in the film, along with Rob Reiner and Rosie O' Donnell, they have a good ensemble too. The Writing is very smart and very crisp, and while cliche, I was quite charmed by the ending of this movie that can go down as classic.
A lot of problems with the movie as Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks have no chemistry together, because it was just the end of this film that brings them together, and that's quite a fault because for it to be a Rom Com, have them get chemistry, who knows where these two would've ended up and they don't know and risked a lot to know who they were, I think that it's a sweet concept in a different way, but NOW, destiny and fate would never happen in these movies.
A well done and well acted movie that should go down as one of the greats, very funny and touching movie, I was really suckered by it.
