Review of Sleepless (2001) by Lafe F — 07 Jul 2007
A great return to the classic "Giallo" murder mystery horror style by Dario Argento! This film had strong plot and characters, with a compelling mystery. Victims were killed in inventive animal-themed ways, making it all very interesting.
The opening scene on the train had great suspense. All the elements of a good Giallo were present: red herrings, a black-gloved killer, an Italian setting, female nudity, a detective investigation, and gorey setpiece killings with a complex motive involved. The mystery kept me guessing until the end. I highly enjoyed this new effort by Argento.
