Review of Sleeping Beauty (2011) by Deric E — 17 Oct 2011
Stunningly shot and a visual feast, but the obtuse, pretentious script occassionally lets it down. Emily Browning emits a very strong sense of apathy as the protagonist. Perhaps she's done her a job a little too well here, as it's hard to relate or sympathize with her character.
On the other hand, the supporting cast (particularly Rachael Blake as the painfully elegant Clara) are strong and help bring the film together.
