Esoteric and pretentious. Despite Leigh's valiant effort, the film doesn't come to fruition. I appreciate that she's exploring sexuality in a mature and intelligent way but the film never really makes its point clear.
Clearly influenced by Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, Sleeping Beauty has a provocative nature with plenty of nudity and a brave performance, but the film never really blows the audience away.
