Review of Sleeping Beauty (1959) by Angel P — 04 Oct 2009
Disney's greatest artistic masterpiece of song and visual spectacle. You must see the restored version! Like opening the pages of a medieval storybook and stepping inside a magical world of beauty, magic, romance and terror.
Truly one of the gemstones of Disney art, still inspiring artmaking to this day. Set to the breathtaking sounds of tchaikovsky's ballet music, it is a beautiful re-invention of the classic tale. I think modern animators could have a lot to learn from this masterpeice of classic filmmaking.
An absolute joy every time I watch it.
